Srini proposed to Steph on a beautiful September evening on the rooftop of their apartment complex in Arlington, Virginia, overlooking the Washington monument.
From our very first call, I could see just how much Srini loves Steph, and how perfect he wanted this moment to be. One of their closest friends and Steph's siblings would be there to help set up, he had made reservations for them at a restaurant Steph really wanted to go to for right after, and had even timed the proposal so that it would happen right before an upcoming vacation (and then they could continue celebrating together on the trip!).
With the rooftop set up with roses and champaign, and their loved ones hiding and watching, Srini asked Steph to marry him—and of course she said yes!
One of my favorite things about photographing proposals is documenting the moments immediately after, the wiping away of tears, family and friends running out to celebrate, and the joy between the newly engaged couple as the very exciting reality of forever together sinks in. I am usually smiling like an idiot the whole time, grateful to witness such a beautiful moment in a couples' love story. Srini's proposal to Steph was certainly no exception.
